A couple of weeks ago I was pleased to be back at the Strathpeffer Pavilion for the wedding of Nairn couple, Claire and Colin. Photography started at Claire’s mum Siobhan’s house in Nairn where Claire, and the girls were having their hair and makeup done. Fun and laughs were had with friends and family popping by to share a glass of bubbly before heading off to Dingwall for the ceremony at St Lawrence Church. I was a little unsure how the weather would hold out as it was forecast to rain; luckily it remained bright and sunny for most of the day with only the occasional shower, which we managed to dodge.
The church in Dingwall was bright and warm with the sun streaming in through the large south facing windows. Claire’s cousin who was visiting from Africa performed a lovely ceremony before everyone headed to the pavilion for drinks and canapés. Claire, Colin and I took the opportunity to make a small detour via Brahan to get a few portraits away from the mid day sun before heading on to the pavilion ourselves.
Callum (Claire’s brother) preformed a surprise song for her with music and adapted lyric’s from Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” which added humour and laughs at the end of his emotional speech.
Colin’s dad Jim did a great job of piping at the church and during the bride and grooms entrance for the meal. I was really pleased I was still there to get a few shots of Colin (who also plays the pipes well) and Jim playing together shortly after the first dance.
Another great day and another great wedding! Thanks to Claire and Colin for asking me to shoot and share their day, it was a pleasure! Here are a few images from their happy day.
